Self-Absorbed Bike Lane-Parking Morons

For those of you whose bicycle is a primary mode of transport, you know what I’m talking about. They bring to life one of the opening lines –or perhaps the opening line?– from Stephen King’s “The Shining”: Officious little pricks.
A few weeks ago while riding my bike on the clearly marked bike paths along Ljubljana’s congested streets, I came up with an idea on how to deal with these self-absorbed bike lane-parking morons, and it finally sprung to life this evening in the form of a flickr group whose sole purpose is to cast more attention on these attention-seeking self-absorbed bike lane-parking morons. I decided to call it Self-Absorbed Bike Lane-Parking Morons.
The idea is a simple one. Snap a pic of the offending self-absorbed bike lane-parking moron(s) with the license plate clearly identifiable –like this one, LJ D0-13A– note the time and location, post it to the group, and while you’re at it, send an email to your local police precinct.
Join us! And spread the word!

I’m all over this.

I must warn you that Slovenian Personal data protection Act – ZVOP (Zakon o varstvu osebnih podatkov) is very specific about your (illegal) idea/proposal in its 6th Paragraph:
[data is] … “katerikoli podatek, ki se nanaša na posameznika, ne glede na obliko, v kateri je izrazen”
[data collection is] … “vsak strukturiran niz podatkov, ki vsebuje vsaj en osebni podatek, … [in] je organiziran na takšen način, da določi ali omogoči določljivost posameznika”
You can read about this on Slo-Tech forum, and use this application for translation.
Have a safe and pleasant biking!

@ erik – hilarious!
@enXeN – Thanks for the note and I’ll look into it, but I’m not so sure that a license plate, which is very obviously publicly displayed, fits with what your saying. I’ve seen photos of license plates published in newspapers, as well as published photos of personalized vanity plates here in Slovenia.
This story — http://dnevnik.si/novice/tehnologije/249530/ — in yesterday’s Dnevnik about this PiranCafe post (thanks to whoever tipped off the paper!!) quotes a city official who actually welcomed this humble initiative.

Yup, I’ve read Dnevnik too … In spite of what the City Official said I still think that as long as you’re collecting the photos of all the morons (BTW I’ve met a few of them yesterday on Tržaška road
) for yourself (on your blog in a few different contexts) you’re on the safe side of the Law – but at the very moment, when you start to collect and publish photos publicly, on a public web site or a public forum, with purpose to reweal (not necesarilly in a direct meaning name-kind of way, plates are sufficient – as Inspector {za varstvo osebnih podatkov, g. Jože} Bogataj confirmed in a suggested reading that [... registrska oznaka je po ZVOP-1 osebni podatek. Šesti člen zakona namreč določa, da je osebni podatek katerikoli podatek, ki se nanaša na posameznika, ne glede na obliko, v kateri je izražen ...].) who the parking morons are (a collection of personal data), you are unfortunately not.

perhaps you’ve already heard of it, but http://svr84.ehostpros.com/~plrds84/adc0.htm
and having a hand full of those stickers in your pocket at just the right moment is almost as gratifying as option 1, which is a drive by lock smashing of the moron’s side mirrors. almost.
